The Dark Verses (of the Bible)
Series
There are many verses in the Bible that talk about doom and gloom. But, I want to talk about “Darkness”. What is darkness? How does God see darkness? Is darkness evil? And more questions I hope will be answered in this series.
I have heard it said that darkness is the absence of light. I have to disagree. True darkness is blindness to the Light.
The Scriptures says that God is everywhere. Psalm 139 says He is in the darkness, in Sheol (grave, hell, pit), in the sea, everywhere. There is no place we can go where He is not at.
Darkness is as day to Him. He is in the darkness.
The Scriptures says God is light.
In Genesis 2 it says darkness covered the deep and the Spirit of God moved or hovered over the deep in the midst of deep darkness. The Spirit of God is God Who is Light.
The Light (Holy Spirit) was in the darkness at work.
There are those of us who live in the midst of darkness with the light of the Lord within us making us the light in the darkness and a carnival of lights lighting the way to Truth.
Mat 5:14 You are burning embers that light up this darkened world. So, be a blazing lighthouse fire to lead the way, like a carnival lights up the night sky on a hill for all to see.
(OutCast Version)
And there are others who live in darkness blind to the Light, because the deliberately do wrong and embrace the sin life. These people love to be blind and live in darkness without knowing the Light.
The purpose of this series is to show that darkness is not evil. God created darkness in this physical dimension before He created light. What God has created, let no one call evil.
True darkness is blindness to the Light.

Part 1
Darkness is not Dark
Psa 139:11, 12 If I say, "I know the darkness will cover me and hide me, and the light
Will become as night.
The darkness is not dark to You, not at all. To You the night is as brilliant as the day. And darkness is the same as light in Your eyes.
(OutCast Version)
Psa 139:11, 12 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night--
but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. (NLT)
Darkness is as light to God. We OutCasts can say we live with darkness, but we are in the Light, and God sees the Light in the darkness.
Jesus spent more time with the people in the dark places of this world than anyone else. His light shined in those dark places and those dark places became illuminated as a cloudless day at high noon.
So, don't let people tell you that you are wrong for loving the dark and dark things for God created the darkness first. Before God created the Heavens and the earth there was nothing in this dimension. There was no darkness, no light…nothing. He created the Heavens and the earth and darkness first. Then, after He created darkness the Light of the Holy Spirit moved and hovered within the darkness. He brought His Light into the darkness, then He said, "Let there be light." Just as Jesus brought the Light into the darkness.
The Light that dwells in us and illuminates the darkness we live in.
Darkness and light are the same to God.
Psa 139:12 Darkness and light are the same to you. (NLT)
Darkness and light are the same to God.

Part 2
Darkness as Noon
Isa 58:10 Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. (NLT)
As OutCasts practice charity and compassion. Practice showing grace, mercy and love to all. Then our light will shine out from the darkness we live in. The darkness will be as the brightest noonday.
The darkness we live in can't help but shine bright as the brightest day and yet it will still be dark in appearance. A paradox indeed. The Bible is full of paradoxes. In order to be first you have to be last. In order to be great you must become a servant to all. You must lose in order to win. Though it is as dark as night we can see clear as day for the Light of the Holy Spirit dwells within us and shines out for all to see.
Darkness is never really dark to the OutCast kinetic believer in Christ.
Darkness is never really dark to the OutCast kinetic believer in Christ.

Part 3
Dark Shadows
Shadows can be our troubles. Shadows can be our griefs. They can bring death. Shadows can be a form of evil. They can be where lost ones live.
Shadows can also be the comfort and protection of being under Father God's wings.
Psa 17:8 Keep me as Your obsession, keep Your eyes fixed on me; protect me like the eagles protect their young with their mighty wings. (OutCast Version)
Psa 36:7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. (NLT)
Psa 57:1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection. I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by. (NLT)
Psa 63:7 Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. (NLT)
Most people think when they here the word shadow, think of shadow of death. But, as we have seen that's not always the case. Dark shadows can be Father God protecting us and sheltering us evil and harm.
Here's something else about dark shadows.
To find out who you are, who I am , who we are, we need to go back to the beginning.
Gen 1:26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
The Hebrew word for, “likeness” has the meaning; similitude, in the likeness of,
the quality or state of being similar to something.
The Hebrew word for, “image” has the meaning; shade; a phantom, illusion, shadow; a shadow of the original, hence a representative figure
We are created in the likeness of God. In other words, we have a spirit, a heart, a head, a body, two arms, two legs and so on just as He does. We are also the image of God, in that we do what God does. The word, image in Hebrew is tselem which means resemblance and shadow.
A shadow is the shape of the original.
The shadow goes and moves in the same way and manner as the original.
The shadow is cast from the original being illuminated.
The shadow does what the original does.
The shadow has the same characteristics as the original.
The shadow moves in sync with the original.
The shadow cannot exist without the original.
We are the shadow of God.
We should be in sync with God, Who is the Original.
We should have the characteristics as God.
We are dark shadows with a burning ember glowing within us.
As OutCasts, we are the Dark Shadows that shines His Light in the darkness like a carnival of lights up the night sky.
Mat 5:14 You are burning embers that light up this darkened world. So, be a blazing lighthouse fire to lead the way, like a carnival lights up the night sky on a hill for all to see.
(OutCast Version)
3Jn 1:11 Dear loved ones, don’t imitate and act like what is evil, wicked, and what is against God's character, but imitate and echo that which reflects God. Whoever does what reflects God is of God; whoever does evil has not known or even seen God.
(OutCast Version)
Eph 5:1 Be imitators and echo God in every little thing you do, for then you will represent your Father as His cherished sons and daughters.
(OutCast Version)
As OutCasts, we are the Dark Shadows that shines His Light in the darkness like a carnival of lights up the night sky.

Part 4
The Dark Lights
Jesus said, we are the light of the world.
Mat 5:14 You are burning embers that light up this darkened world. So, be a blazing lighthouse fire to lead the way, like a carnival lights up the night sky on a hill for all to see.
(OutCast Version)
As I said before, true darkness is being blind to the True Light. Romans 2:19 says we are a guide to the blind and a light to those who are lost in darkness.
Rom 2:19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, (NKJV)
Rom 2:19Now you can be confident and sure that you can be a guide to those blind to the Light, and to be a carnival of light to those lost in darkness. (OutCast Version)
But, how can a believer be a guide to the blind and a light to those in darkness if we don't go to the darkness where they are? If all the believers do is stay in Church and go to christian seminars then how can they be a light those who are in darkness?
We must be in the darkness to be a light in the darkness.
So, we the OutCasts live in darkness so we can be a guide to the blind and a light to the lost ones. That is our mission.
Our mission is in the dark trenches.
The OutCasts are the dark ones that light up the deep darkness.
The OutCasts are the Dark Lights.
We must be in the darkness to be a light in the darkness.
The Dark Verses (of the Bible)
Part 5
God of Darkness/God of Light
God is everywhere, even in the darkness. Even in the shadows.
Psa 23:4 Yes, though I (this OutCast) walk [move, and proceed] through the deep, sunless valley of the shadow of death [the death-shadow, in deepest darkness], I will not fear nor dread any evil [wickedness, harm, wound, hurt, or demonic attack], for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort [console, and have compassion on] me. (OutCast Version)
Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (NKJV)
Isa 9:2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined. (NKJV)
God is the Creator of darkness.
Isa 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.' (NKJV)
Psa 104:20 You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about. (NKJV)
Psa 18:9-11 He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet.
And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.
He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters And thick clouds of the skies. (NKJV)
Father God, the Brightest Light is in the midst of the deepest darkness to guide His OutCasts so we may guide the blind to the True Light. He is there in the darkness with us to protect us as we,
His Dark Ones, His OutCasts can be a carnival of lights to the lost ones.
Father God is the God of darkness
And,
He is the God of Light.
For, He is the Creator of both.
His Dark Ones, His OutCasts can be a carnival of lights to the lost ones.
